As the Head of Processing and Marketing Group Wana Lestari Tuban, Surasmini make use of the plants in the area and nutritious food. One of them is turning mangrove fruit into cakes and beverages. “At first, we sell the food and beverages door to door but we sell it in Kampung Kepiting Restaurant,” She explained.

The restaurant is quite unique because its location. Kampung Kepiting is located on the east of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport or just before the entrance of the toll. “It is cannot be seen from the side of the street because the visitors must pass the ecotourism filled with mangrove and animals,” Surasmini said.

Many menus made from crabs served in the restaurant such as soft helled crab, fried crab, soup and boiled crab. The special menu is kepiting tol bergoyang. There is also many kinds of seafood such as fish and clams with variety ways of cooking.

For the main menu, Surasmini who was graduated from secretary department not only use the crabs from fishermen but also from the breeding from Wana Sari Tuban Group. “That is why we never suffer from the lack of raw materials for the restaurant,” she said.

Besides crabs, the wife of I Made Sumasa is also making beverages from mangrove fruit. Cakes and beverages from mangrove is the icon of Kampung Kepiting Restaurant. (BTN/015)
