The CME & Cultural Immersion of Bali or the Doctors on Tours group was once again chose Furama Villas & Spa Ubud, Bali to be one of their accommodations during their Bali long stay in Bali. The eight doctors who mostly are Canadians and Americans were stayed for five nights, last week.
On the first day of their stay, the group had a welcome dinner, accompanied with Balinese dance and traditional Balinese music performances. The group leader, Dr. Mel Borins, has been visiting Bali since long ago. The main purpose of their trip is he wanted to show how special Bali is. Moreover, it is to show the spiritual side of Bali as well as the cultural side of Bali. On their whole Bali tours, usually Dr. Borins and Bonnie (spouse) brings the group to visit their favorite places, such as Kertagosa, Tirta Gangga, Taman Ayun Temple, Peliatan Palace, and many more.
On this trip, the groups continue to visit some universities in Bali to have some talks about the Western medical approach. With MS students and doctors, they compare it to the Asian’s, moreover Bali, culture in traditional medicine and the use of spices/herbs.
On the last day of their stay at Furama Villas & Spa Ubud, the doctors planted trees on the ground of Furama Villas & Spa Ubud’s sister property. Wayan Sumandia, Resort Manager of Furama Villas & Spa Ubud, explained to the group one of the reasons why a tree planting program is included during their stay is because Furama Ubud consistently doing Tri Hita Karana.
Teresa Padmadewi Lingga E-commerce & Marcom Manager informed that Dr. Borins and Bonnie visited Bali on the first time at 1975. After 40+ years, they keep coming back and bring different group. His first stay at Furama Ubud was four years ago, on 2012. He wrote a book about how vacation is good for health and wrote a 17-pages-long chapter dedicated to Bali as a destination and how it affected him”. “The doctors were very happy to stay in Bali and impressed with the warmth and friendliness of Balinese hospitality.
