The culture is known as kite fighting game or commonly referred to as mekorot. Aside from competing kites in the air, the kite enthusiasts also apply strategies and techniques so as to win the game. Since first appearing, the kite hobbyists are playing a kite by putting it into competition. No wonder the game takes place with tight competition and implements strategies in order to defeat their opponents.

Made Suitama, one of the hobbyists and experts of typical kite players of Buleleng said that since the appearance in 1970 he was taught by parents to get involved in kite fighting.
