A visit to Tabanan would not be complete without stopping by Puri Anyar in Kerambitan village, located about 28 km from Denpasar and 80 minutes form Ngurah Rai airport. Puri Anyar Kerambitan is the former palace of the Kingdom of Tabanan and was built in the seventeenth century in distinctive Balinese style and the buildings are still well maintained to this day. Puri Anyar Kerambitan houses many heritage objects including several famous paintings. Visitors to Puri Anyar Kerambitan are welcomed with a variety of Balinese art performances such as Tektekan, Joged Bumbung, Andir and Legong Leko and a ‘royal’ banquet-style dinner. Thus, visitors can feel like royalty in ancient times.

Puri Anyar Kerambitan lies adjacent to Puri Agung Kerambitan which is also a royal heritage of Bali. In typical Balinese royal architecture fashion,  Puri Anyar Kerambitan is divided into several areas called palebahan or courtyards. They include; the Cangem Kodok, Bencingah Puri, Jaba Tengah, Tandakan Puri, Seren Agung and the Pemerajan Agung Puri Anyar Kerambitan located at Baturiti village, Kerambitan subdistrict, Tabanan.
