Do you like taking selfies? If so, the Selfie Twin Hills are the place for you. Located at Guliang Kawan hamlet, Bunutin village, Bangli, the Selfie Twin Hills provide charming natural scenery that is ideal for taking selfies and is fast becoming a popular tourist destination.

Getting to the Selfie Twin Hills is easy. Located near the highway on the border between Bangli and Gianyar, visitors can get to the top of the hill by climbing a hundred meters of stairs. On the top of the hill there are some wooden benches and a platfrom ideal for enjoying the view.

Headman of Bunutin, I Nengah Muja, revealed that the Selfie Twin Hills located next to Bukit Jati, were formerly unkempt hills but began to draw the interest of local residents as a place to go and relax. The local Pokdarwis (tourism awareness group) then decided to start making the hill more pleasant for visitors by putting in stairs that lead to the top of this hill and by creating a seating area on the top of these hills that was formely mined for sandstone. “Construction was conducted independently by members of the Pokdarwis, using donor funds,” he explained.

The Selfie Twin Hills offers a magnificent view of Mount Agung and neighbouring areas. “Since the hill has been worked on by out Pokdarwis, a number of local and foregin visitors have come to enjoy the view”, siad Muja.

The government of Bangli, through the Culture and Tourism Agency, has provided guidance to the Pokdarwis regarding human resources, strengthening of the group and the ‘seven charms’ of tourism. “The Geopark Museum also informed them that the rocks that make up, selfie hills were formed 29,000 years ago” he added.
