Komang Emmy Aryanti is Sales Manager of Hotel Santika Seminyak. She has been working in the hospitality industry for 15 years. After graduating with a Diploma 3 in Hospitality Accounting from the Bali Tourism Institute (1994-1997), she worked at the Hotel Santika Premiere Beach Resort that has been renamed Anvaya. “Working in the hospitality industry provides many opportunities to meet people, from other parts of the country and the world”, she said.

This woman born in 1975 explained that she took a break from the Santika Premier while it was under renovation. However she could not separate herself fro the hospitality industry, so she resumed her career at the Grand Whiz Kuta that has been rebranded as Grand Ixora Kuta. She then moved on to The Bulakan Management (2015-2016) before returning to the Sanktika Hotel in Seminyak. “Working in the feld of hospitality allows me to meet a lot of people and is an enriching experience”, she said.

Emmy said that apart from getting aquainted with lots of new people and  making lots of friends, this field of work has also taught her a lot about how to promote a hotel. “We use the conventional methode of sending offers by mail. We have a database of people targetted to become our customers”, she explained.

Other strategies like using the mass media, are used to encourage customers to come back again by improving relations. Emmy recently padi a visit to Bali Post Media Group, accompanied by GM Secretary & Public Relations of the Hotel Santika Seminyak, Dwi Lina Sari Tanjung, “We have come in personabout our products an who we are. We understand about our segment of the market”, she said.

She also aknowledged the competition that exists between hotels and so they provide special promotions to keep up. Competitors include other countries, as many tourists preffer to visit coutries other than Indonesia because they are cheaper. “It is therefore important that the government, the private sector and our community work together to ensure that Bali in particular and Bali in general remain a favorite tourist destination”, she added.

To introduce her hotel to a broader public, Emmy and her team often perform social activities like blood drives and pilgrimages. “ These activities also allow us to balance commercial and social-religious aspects”, she concluded. (BTN/015)

    Hai..I will be in bali 4 days from 29/5/17 arrive 7.30pm and will back on 2/6/17…. Please let me know the places shud I go and the prices including hotel. .4 person (2person each room)
