There are so many Hindu holiday celebrations as well as commemorations of other important customary days that are actually more than enough capital to establish Balinese human character based on Hinduism and strong customs. This will establish a qualified cultural and ritual fortress in the fight against the current wackiness. In the perspective of Balinese Hinduism, this context is quite ideal. It is a perfect perspective to see internal and external quality.
The Balinese Hinduism combining the ritual, spiritual, global and cultural aspect is the ideal blend how to view one’s self and the environment. It is establishing a pithy and tough mindset and in the action. However, in the contemporary context, this actually seems far from ideal. For example, some things or problems that can actually be resolved very easily, if based on the perspective, finally it becomes complicated. This is a big thing. How does it happen?
Apparently, the learning process is not as smooth as what we imagine. Many things change the mindset so that modern Balinese people are not entirely based on the mindset as what we have imagined and expected. Our basic philosophy of ritual, culture, communal and other local geniuses are much defeated by modernisms that are gradually tearing away the traditional strength.
This should be well realized that Balinese Hindu humans have begun to get uprooted. The hedonic modern lifestyle is increasingly pervasive in life. We cannot deny this. Equally, we cannot deny that the religiosity on the other hand also develops superbly. Balinese people are masked, wearing a mask according to their role and condition. They put on a mask of a wise human character at one time and a greedy mask at a later time.
Standing on two legs is not indeed solid to move forward. This is the current phenomenon of Bali. Lots of things have happened. Problems overlap and increasingly overlap. This should be resolved if there is awareness on the self-strength. But in fact, it is not. Many temptations, especially material ones, have shifted the perspective of the Balinese Hindu. Nevertheless, we remain convinced that it can be immediately addressed if there is a strong commitment from our leaders and community leaders. Life does move forward. We’ll encounter many new things but it does not necessarily mean that the old things are thrown away. (Gde Palgunadifirstname.lastname@example.org)
