Related to the organization of the World Park Exhibition or Internationale Garten Austellung (IGA) at Gärten der Welt, Marzahn Berlin 2017, the Berlin City Government, Germany, is seriously making a preparation. This IGA is held every ten years and lasts for six months. Balinesischer Garten (Balinese Park) established in 2003 was renovated and expanded to about 2,000 square meters.

Besides, it is also renamed into Tropenhalle Balinesischer Garten. The cost of renovation is borne by the city government of Berlin worth EUR 4.5 million or equivalent to IDR 63 billion.

Tropenhalle in the form of greenhouse has a collection of tropical plants coming with Balinese atmosphere, where it is equipped with example of rice terraces and Balinese home completed with temple and then becomes the Tri Hita Karana Temple. The building has a sophisticated temperature and humidity regulator where visitors can feel the temperature like in tropical regions even though the condition outside is snowing.

In the massive renovation carried out in 2015, the position of Padmasana and Penglurah shrine at the Tri Hita Karana Temple were relocated from outside into the greenhouse. The ngenteg linggih ritual is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Berlin, the government of Gianyar, government of Greater Jakarta and the ministry of tourism of the Republic of Indonesia.

Close relationship of Jakarta and Berlin since 1994 has made the Indonesian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Ing. Fauzi Bowo, initiate the establishment of new shrine as a complement to Penunggun Karang shrine. The city administration in early 2016 agreed to donate the shrine which was then approved by the Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.

The government of Greater Jakarta contributed a Penunggun Karang shrine where in the inscription is written: Donated by the Provincial Government of Greater Jakarta as a symbol of inter-city cooperation between Jakarta and Berlin signed in Berlin on May 10, 2017, by Basuki T. Purnama, Governor of Greater Jakarta Province.

With this change and addition, the Hindu community group, Nyama Braya Bali Berlin organized an Ngenteg Linggih ritual. The ritual was just officiated over by Ida Pedanda Wayahan Bun from Griya Sanur Pejeng together with Ida Pandita Mpu Jaya Putra Pemuteran from Griya Penataran Renon.

The Ngenteg Linggih ritual took place for 2 hours on Wednesday morning (May 10) to coincide with full moon in Balinese eleventh month. The event was attended by about 120 Balinese Hindus living in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland. (BTN/r/ist)
