The sixth Agrarian Cultural Festival (FBP) 2017 in Badung will be held again with the theme Angajap Lango Budaya (desiring the art) as the basic capital of development. In line with the vision and mission, the development of Badung is implemented in accordance with the principle of inter-regional balance.
Nevertheless, there is still an economic gap between the North and South Badung. This has always become an aspiration and public appreciation that needs to be answered with real action where the Agrarian Cultural Festival is one of the efforts to answer those aspirations.
This festival is meant to build the image of North Badung region, to explore the spirit of agrarian culture, to create market for transaction, to prepare public dialogue, education and entertainment and to initiate the growth of agriculture and tourism synergy. Besides, it is also pioneering the growth of creative economy based on agricultural sector.
This agrarian cultural festival will be held for four days (Jul. 15–18) located in Tukad Bangkung Tourism Area, Petang, Badung. It will be graced with some activities such as opening ceremony and agrarian cultural parade, agricultural products exhibition, art performance, culinary stand, folk market, gathering or familiarity of the community with tourists as well as several types of competitions. The festival powered by the Badung agriculture and food agency involves some other agencies, private sectors and community components to fill in the activities and exhibition stands.
Dozens of exhibitors will participate in the festival such as the subdistrict of North Kuta, Petang, Abiansemal, Mengwi, Kuta, South Kuta, tourism office, culture office, marine and fishery agency, creative economy, trade and cooperative, transportation agency, communications and information agency, environment and sanitation agency and Plaga rural youth club.
This festival also involves some tourism villages like the Pangsan, Belok Sidan, Carangsari, Sulangai, Petang, Getasan, Central Java investment office, Bangli fisheries and agriculture agency, Denpasar agriculture agency and BPD Bali.
Uniquely, this festival takes place in Tukad Bangkung Bridge connecting three districts at once namely the Badung, Bangli and Buleleng. Besides, Tukad Bangkung is also claimed as the highest bridge in Asia, and the longest in Bali reaching 360 meters, 9.6 meters wide, with the height of pillar reaching 71.14 meters.
This bridge applies balanced cantilever technology with an estimated lifespan of 100 years. It is designed in such a way so that visitors can see various natural sceneries in the vicinity. So, no wonder if this bridge is having no roof. Tukad Bangkung Bridge is also said to be earthquake-proof with magnitude of 7 in Richter scale. (BTN/014)
