The Indonesia Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) now has a headquarters of the Central Executive Board (DPP) located at the London School of Public Relations (LSPR) Bali Campus, precisely on Jalan Gatot Subroto Timur 238, Tonja Denpasar. Inauguration of the secretariat was held on Friday (Jul. 28) marked by cutting cone and the opening of the signboard.
Other than attended by the IHGMA members and the LSPR staff, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, Chairman of PHRI Badung IGN Rai Suryawijaya, representatives of Bali tourism office, district and municipal tourism office in Bali and other invitees.
Chairman of the Central Executive Board, Wisnu Handoko, said the IHGMA requires a secretariat office in running the organization more orderly. The location is deliberately chosen in Bali because Chairman of Central Executive Board is in Bali and the inauguration on April 20, 2016 was held in Bali Beach. “We are very grateful to the LSPR that has fully supported by providing a space to be used by the IHGMA as the secretariat office. This is a beautiful collaboration between the LSPR and IHGMA,” he said.
Founder and Directress of the LSPR, Prita Kemal Gani, said the collaboration will benefit not only the LSPR students and IHGMA but also Balinese people. This collaboration is expected to increase the quality of human resources in the field of tourism, “The field of tourism and communication are two inseparable things and mutually support. We at the LSPR and IHGMA will synergize to create more competitive professional in the global era,” she said.
Through this partnership, said Prita Kemal Gani, the LSPR having contributed to tourism and hospitality education is expected to have a medium of cooperation with hotels under the IHGMA. “In the future, hotel can have prospective and qualified hotelier candidates graduating from the LSPR,” she added.
Deputy Chairman I, Dr. Ramia Adnyana, said the collaboration in the future will participate more actively in promoting Indonesian tourism, primarily in the improvement of quality of human resources. “We have an aspiration to continuously add our members. So far, our members have reached 594 all over Indonesia and our target is to reach 800 to 1,000 general managers,” he said. (BTN/015)
