Dining in at a restaurant is a commonplace and so is working tasks in office. However, what about working an office job in a restaurant? Or having meals in restaurant while completing office job? Well, this is unusual thing, but, it does exist. The Pemulan Coffee House and Resto provides dining facilities while working. This restaurant is located on Jalan Gunung Sari, Gang Uma Sekembang, Peliatan, Ubud – Gianyar.
Pemulan Coffee House and Resto as a place to eat and drink coffee is very fantastic. It offers a wonderful natural view. Being in a verdant paddy field, rich in local plants, close to the life of the wetland animals and the activities of village community makes the atmosphere comfortable and cool. The decor and interior arranged in original and antic style very much supports the atmosphere in the countryside.
Nevertheless, the facilities are very complete, so that guests can eat in tatami style or lesehan, together with girlfriends, family, entourage or colleagues. Similarly, it is equipped with a meeting room, a reception and a room for birthday celebration or just chat. There is also a coffee house, power king space and pool. “This place is also equipped with free Wi-Fi facilities with so fast access so that customers can eat while working,” said the owner, Putu Suryawan.
Pemulan Coffee House and Resto offers a variety of delicious foods. In the process of this rebranding, all the menus are arranged, so they become more attractive and delicious. From about 20 menus available, barbeque pork ribs, bebek judes, steamed chicken (betutu) and bebek mekepu is the mostly ordered. “Other than offering good taste, the price is also affordable that can be reached by various circles, including local communities,” added Putu Suryawan accompanied by Operations Manager I Made Wiranata and Sales Marketing Lidya Minanti.
The bebek mekepu menu has a superior taste, so that it distinguishes from other duck menus. It has a specialty in black color. It does not happen due to being burned but due to the influence of spices in use. The meat feels soft and tender because the marinade entirely seeps into the flesh. When served, it comes with three kinds of condiment namely green condiment, fried shallot and pounded condiment, so there is a choice of flavor. “I designed this menu inspired by the menu encountered in one of the ceremonies in Bali,” he said.
The duck meat does not feel fishy because it has passed through a long process, starting from the provision of spices and then massaged to make the seasoning get absorbed well. After that, it is silenced. Few minutes later, it is boiled about for half a day and then fried until getting crispy. Other than coming with three types of spices, the presentation of this bebek mekepu is also served with rice, plecing kangkung, sate lilit and ares bebek. “Although the process is long, it can be served very quickly as supported by experienced waiters,” he said.
Another menu that is not less interesting is the betutu ayam keren. Although using ingredient of red chicken, the meat is soft to the bone. The meat texture is soft and not hard if chewed. A portion of betutu ayam keren is served with urap vegetable, plecing kangkung, rice, raw condiment as well as fried shallot and served by using bamboo tray. The drink on offer is not less interesting like tropical juice, cocktail, mocktail and original coffee of Kintamani. This restaurant is open every day starting at 09:00 until 21:00. (BTN/015)
