Lebih Beach tourist area in Gianyar is very famous for its culinary tourism. Various menus with fish ingredients become the main serving of every stall on the edge of this exotic beach. Then, is there any food outlet for vegetarians?
Well, the atmosphere of togetherness will definitely change because some group members have to eat in different place and seat apart. However, do not be afraid because Warung Rangkung Lebih has prepared the best solution.
Warung Rangkung Lebih is located on the west of Lebih Beach and east of Bali Safari & Marine Park. Precisely, it is on Jalan Prof. Dr. I.B. Mantra, in the area of Carik Sekalan, Beten Kelod hamlet, Keramas. In addition to offering vegetarian menus, this food stall also offers fish menu, so that between vegetarians and those who eat meat can eat together at the same place.
The location is cool because it is close to green paddy field near a river overgrown with large trees. Various types of plants do not only add to the beauty, but also give birth to unique stories of the ancestors.
The most favorite simple menu is Nasi Campur (mixed rice) consisting of white rice, tempeh sate, corncakes, tofu, cucumber and long bean. Interestingly, it is filled with fried shallot to make the aroma of food more delicious. This mixed rice is liked best by visitors, especially local people. “Foreign tourists also like this vegetarian mixed rice,” said Operations Manager, Dewa Raka.
Another menu is grilled fish a la Rangkung, posing a special menu as it offers complete servings, such as grilled snapper, white rice with squid satay, grilled shrimp, vegetables plecing accompanied with raw condiment, red sauce and soy sauce. There is also fried rice served with carrots, celery, chicken satay and shrimp crackers.
In total, there are about 26 types of menu on offer, both taking advantage of fish and vegetarian ingredients. In addition, there are various drinks such as young coconut, juice, tea, coffee and others. For alcoholic beverages, the warung only offers beer at special events.
The warung opened from 09:00 to 17:00 is usually crowded on Saturday, Sunday and other holidays. It happens because Warung Rangkung Lebih is also equipped with some challenging games, such as tree top, flying fox, swing, trekking, camping, fishing and walking on top. “After playing games, visitors usually choose to eat here, while others deliberately come here to enjoy the Rangkung menus,” said Dewa Raka.
Warung Rangkung Lebih has a capacity of 35 seats for indoor area. Meanwhile, it is also equipped with gazebo often selected for a meeting place, reception, birthday and other big events. “At the end of this August, there is a reservation for wedding reception and so is the following month,” concluded Dewa Raka.(BTN/015)
