Tanah Lot tourist attraction is not only interesting to visit, but also exuding fragrance that draws the management of other tourist objects to come and learn. They want to learn more about the management of objects, human resources, arrangement of the region as well as services to domestic and foreign tourists. So, it is natural if Tanah Lot is often selected as the object of comparative study for management of tourist object in Bali or outside the region.
For instance, a comparative study was conducted by Uluwatu tourist attraction management led by chief of Pecatu customary village, South Kuta. The group of nine people learned more about problem solving implemented at the object. “The arrival of the Uluwatu tourist attraction management is to share the management of tourist object, where Uluwatu has similar characteristics to Tanah Lot,” said Operations Manager of Tanah Lot, I Ketut Toya Adnyana.
The frequently experienced problems include the handling of complaints, area supporting facilities and the system applied by the management. Tanah Lot itself has established a stand-alone management agency. “They learn a lot that can later on be applied in the management of Uluwatu under the Pecatu customary village,” he said.
He also added that initial discussion about the management of Tanah Lot was the beginning of management under two parties namely the government of Tabanan district and Beraban customary village. There was agreement governing the sharing profit based on percentage for the government of Tabanan district, Beraban customary village, Tanah Lot Temple, and the temples around the area as well as customary villages in Kediri subdistrict.
Tanah Lot is indeed the most popular tourist destination in the whole universe. Other than due to the panorama of magnificent sunset and temple in the middle of sea, it also happens due to the touch of area arrangement and services to customer side. The management involves two elements (government and customary village) that always make self-improvement and oriented to customers without exploiting cultural values and the natural environment.
After sharing the information, the apparatuses of Pecatu customary village made their time to look directly to the field regarding the gate management tickets, checking of tickets to the beach and temple areas. “They hope this information can be made into a reference for improving the management of Uluwatu in the future,” added Toya Adnyana.
