The Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Nusa Dua in cooperation with Bank Mandiri holds the Pesona Mandiri Nusa Dua Fiesta. Featuring the theme ‘The Colors of Nusa Dua,’ this annual event takes place for five days (Oct. 11-15) on the Peninsula Island, ITDC Nusa Dua. ITDC invites local people as well as domestic and foreign tourists to attend this event. It is aimed to promote Nusa Dua, especially as an international tourist resort and Bali in general.
NDF 2017 is filled with some attractions and cultural performances, music and lifestyle. Visitors can enjoy the exhibition of handicraft products, fashion shows, exhibitions and culinary competitions, Nusa Dua coffee week, wine and cheese selection, beach movie as well as various other performances such as traditional Balinese dance, DJ performance, as well as the performance of local and national musician including Balawan, Joni Agung, Gus Teja, Nidji, Andra & The Backbone, Rendy Pandugo and Java Jive.
Managing Director of ITDC Nusa Dua, Wayan Karioka, in the press conference said the NDF event is one of the interesting tourist attractions for local people and tourists. “This 21st event is our support to reach the target of tourist visit targeted by government towards the economic development of Bali,” he said in Badung, Monday (Oct. 9).
Aside from being a means of joint promotion of the ITDC and the hotels, tenants, and residents around Nusa Dua, he said the event is also meant to show that Nusa Dua area is supported by more than 5,000 hotel rooms and conference venues. Moreover, it is able to accommodate more than 10,000 delegates. “It is in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Tourism so that Nusa Dua is ready to become the spearhead in international competition to organize various MICE events with the best service in all fields,” he said.
In addition, Nusa Dua also serves as the location of large outdoor activity for exhibitions, shows, sports and entertainment. “We can also provide support for stakeholders and village buffers within the ITDC area with this event, but the creations prepared by the collaboration team are also expected to bring in positive impacts for tenants and the community,” he explained.
This year’s implementation is targeting 30,000 visitors. “We do not neglect the condition of Bali in line with the activities of Mount Agung facing a force majeur. Nevertheless, it does not dampen our intentions and efforts to keep fighting and making positive activities for the people of Bali,” he asserted.
Managing Director of ITDC, Abdulbar M. Mansoer, said that Nusa Dua Fiesta is also present to campaign non-cash movement. To that end, the festival visitors will be directed to make non-cash payments. “We have prepared electronic money cards that can be used by visitors to conduct transactions at the venue of the festival,” he said.
Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya, appreciated to the implementation of the NDF 2017 in an effort to promote Nusa Dua tourist resort to increase tourist arrivals to Bali. Nusa Dua Fiesta having run for long enough and entered the 21st year can be included into the 100 premier events of Wonderful Indonesia (WI) Calendar of Events 2018.
Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya, opened the NDF 2017 on October 11, 2017, was enlivened with cultural parade, Sekar Jepun dance and barong street show (ngelawang) by Sabha Yowana and colossal kecak and fire dance. (BTN/015)
