Five artists from different regions of Indonesia are dispalying their works in a fine art exhibition entitled “From Time to Senses” (Dari Masa ka Rasa) at Griya Santrian Gallery, Sanur. The exhibition, featuring 23 paintings and graphic other works was opened by Rain Rosidi on Friday (Nov. 17) and will be be on display until December 30, 2017. The five creative artists are: Agung Tato Suryanto (Yogyakarta), Agustan (Jakarta), Angga Suksma Permana (Yogyakarta), Made Kenak Dwi Adnyana (Bali) and M. Muhlis Lugis (Makassar).

The beauty of these art works of varying sizes is expressed in etching, colors and line with ideas as a consideration and with the main purpose of inspiring the viewer. Thematically, “From Time to Senses” is the artsits’ interpretation of time and the senses. Time affects the creative process whether in terms of technical or thematic exploraito or knowledge of fine arts that has been very influencial in their understanding of art production as it related to the senses. The works of art presented in this exhibition essentially serve as depictions of the creative process as a way to develop the senses and a re-examine of the most essential aspect of art; the senses.

Their geographical distance form one and other has not discouraged them from participating in exhibitions together as evidenced by “Dari Masa ka Rasa #1” in Surabaya and the four exhibitions that followed. “ Distance has not been a barrier for us in maintinaing our spirit of togetherness”, said Agung Tato Suryanto during the press conference for the exhibition at Griya Santrian Gallery on Thursday (Nov. 16).
