The tradition taking place late afternoon until midnight was preceded with a convoy of dozens of bala ngeredag ​​with unique uniforms and hit bamboo split drum (kulkul) followed by dozens of sacred barongs surrounding the village with ritual at every border.

The ngeredag ​​desa procession began to move towards the border of customary village, precisely in front of Bebek Tepi Sawah Restaurant around 18:00 Local Time. Procession of the villagers wearing unique uniform surrounded the village while beating kulkul. They put on kukusan meselet siyut (bamboo steamer and stirrer) and cross sign made of whiting.

Various forms of sacred barong were also paraded in the series of this tradition and followed by thousands of citizens. The sacred barong includes the Rangda Mask, Garuda, Barong Landung, Barong Ket, Male Boar and Tiger Barong. After walking around the village, this series of ceremony then paused at Dalem Puri Temple, Ubud. Until evening, the procession continued towards the center of local village. As a peak of the procession, a big ceremony called caru sambleh was held.

Chief of Peliatan customary village, I Ketut Sandi, explained that the annual ritual is called sasuhunan nguya nyatur desa or in the old term was named as ngeredag ​​desa. This unique ceremony is meant to neutralize basic elements of nature, thus giving peace and prosperity. Moreover, considering the full moon of the sixth month in the Balinese calendar is believed to be very sacred, where all sorts of diseases and pests are endemic.
