Kaek tried to sketch out his perception of the objects around him. He did not think of the way he should look because he did not know. Kaek felt confident that drawing pleasure is obtained from his mother’s blood, Ni Ketut Nendri, originating from Sukawati. After graduating from high school, Kaek pursued legal studies at a university in Yogyakarta. Instead of studying diligently, he even associated with the students of the art studies and joined their drawing activities. Nevertheless, he finally could complete his university study majoring in law, but Kaek decided to engage fully in the world of the art in Bali.

On the way, he had hesitated considering the world of the art is a world of expression while he must be financially independent.
