As a newcomer to the culinary business, Warung Kahuna opened on December 7, 2017 offers its own uniqueness to visitors. Market of the Kahuna originates from various circles both local and foreign tourists. Although the culinary business is rampant in Bali, the opportunity remains available because Bali as a tourist area is visited by many tourists. While enjoying the dish, visitors to Kahuna will also be served with salsa dance or enjoy yoga. “We will also present traditional arts such as kecak, and others,” added Tasha.
Tasha said that tourists coming to Bali are not just having a trip, but also definitely need to eat. “The word ‘Kahuna’ is derived from the Hawaiian language which means healer and big waves. It is the basis of our restaurant concept where we want to heal the visitor’s hunger with our delicious and healthy specialties. Armed with the philosophy of the waves, we want to embrace all walks of life, not only tourists to enjoy the culinary here,” she explained.
Tasha is optimistic that Kahuna’s presence will get a positive response as it also closely works with travel agencies as well as various communities such as big motor, yoga and other communities. About the price, Tasha ascertains it is very affordable, ranging from IDR 3,000 to about IDR 50,000. “We want to give something more than just a meal but also health,” added this slim woman who is also a yogi. “Various cuisines of the archipelago in the Kahuna Resto include Balinese typical mixed rice, various saute menus of the archipelago, fried rice, rendang (beef simmered in coconut milk) and chicken curry. All menus are cooked based on a family recipe from my mother. Meanwhile, the Western menus include spaghetti, lasagna, various pasta and various salads,” she explained.
What is interesting and rare compared to other restaurants is that it offers one-stop entertainment concept where every Wednesday and Saturday it organizes the Latin Nite event to entertain visitors. It starts from 08:00 through 22:00 local time and special on the weekend it is open until 23:00. No less important is that Kahuna Bali also provides free Wi-Fi for its visitors.
“For salsa and tango lovers, they can join in the Latin Nite at Kahuna Bali. Meanwhile, for a romantic and serene atmosphere at night while enjoying a delicious culinary, we also want to promote Balinese culture by performing Kecak Dance,” said Tasha.
Tasya said that Kahuna is a subsidiary of Lumen Corps which is engaged in construction, workshop (automotive), information technology, food and beverage and various snacks which now expands its business to Bali by establishing Warung Kahuna. “The concept of cuisine, yoga and dance offered will differentiate Kahuna from the others,” he added.
Meanwhile, President Director of Kahuna Bali Resto, Andreas Nandiwardhana, admitted that his management is not too concerned with Bali tourism situation following the eruption of Mount Agung. Bali is number one tourist destination in Indonesia. Therefore, the culinary business is still a very promising and has a good future prospect. “Well, the eruption of Mount Agung at least reduces the number of tourists coming to Bali, but we see it will not last long.
