The matter was revealed when the parade team consisting of the artists and humanists made socialization to all participants (customary village youth club) of four subdistricts across Denpasar. The Head of Denpasar Culture Agency, Made Mudra, said the parade would be held to explore and motivate the youth clubs (sekaa taruna) especially in the matter of creativity. “For smooth implementation, it has been disseminated the technical matters and security system,” he said.
Design and theme of the ogoh-ogoh (papier mâché demon) should be adapted to the book A Guide to the Ogoh-Ogoh of Pengerupukan issued by the Culture Agency. The assessment is started from their respective subdistrict and will select 5 pieces as the best ogoh-ogoh. “Well, the five selected ones will be included in the parade held in the Catus Pata (central intersection) of the Catur Muka Statue,” he explained. Meanwhile, the elements assessed included the compositions such as design, anatomy, color, proportion and accessories. Then, the creative elements include the technique and design, materials, complexity and ornamentation and expression of the appearance, character and theme suitability.
All the participants are prohibited from presenting the ogoh-ogoh associated with pornography and absurdities that are contrary to the existing values.
