Villa at Hotel:
A Preference of Tourist Accommodation in Bali

“Privacy for leisure in the villa.” Excerpt of this statement may become a trend of its own since recent indications show that tourists to Bali favor their privacy. They do not only want to spend their holiday comfortably, but also wish for privacy within their villa accommodation.

It is this motivation generating the sector of tourist accommodation in Bali to make convenient and private living innovations for their valued guests. “This trend began in the 1990s when the guests demanded a private and attentive service in the finest accommodation,” revealed Nova Terita, Public Relations Manager of Melia Bali Villas & Spa Resort. “In villa, they are provided with special and individual service so that they can feel completely comfortable.”
With 10 Luxury Garden Villas, Melia Bali offers exclusive villas which offer luxurious world class facilities bringing together all the elements that make up the enchantments of exotic Bali. “Here is the sanctuary for the senses where you can relax deeply in an environment of serene beauty, artistry, exquisite comfort and Bali’s special magic that soothes the spirit combining with complete facilities,” she added.
Similar opinion was also expressed by Miss Prami Pratiwi, Director of Public Relations of The Ritz-Carlton Bali Resort & Spa. “Since 1996, we have had villas since many guests requested it for purposes of privacy during their holiday. They want to enjoy perfect serenity and be free from hustles and bustles of their workplace,” she said.
For the progressively increasing demand of villas, at the end of 2004 the Ritz-Carlton added 38 Cliff Villas so it now has 78 villas in total. “On average, our occupancy is 65% and its peak is reached during August,” she said.
“Assuredly the convenience becomes the first priority. On that account, we carefully design our villas with the room choice situated in the tropical gardens with the background of cobalt-blue Indian Ocean view. Guest room in the villa and gazebo outside is completed with private swimming pool, interior and at-the-garden shower that have been well combined to create harmoniously chic environment. Additionally, they have spacious bathroom, exclusive butler service and luxurious room facilities,” she explained.
Another story comes from Sofitel Seminyak offering the villa concept with double facilities. “Here, the guests would be provided with double facilities. They have the right to enjoy the facilities available both in the villa and in our hotel,” said Sukma Awantari, Villa Manager of Sofitel Seminyak.
With the average length of stay being 10-12 nights, the guests are prepared with the buildings having different nuances in every villa. “We provide different nuances in every single villa according to its location,” she revealed.
Considering that the concept of villas is similar to a mini house, the room rates of villa are surely different from that of hotels. (BTN/008)
