Anniversary and Temple Festival

LEGIAN — On the day of the Full Moon, Sunday (14/9), Legian Village Hotel’s Management and Staff celebrated the Temple Festival at the Hotel’s Temple. Balinese Hindu followers believe that this special day (Full Moon) is a very good day therefore the Management decided to celebrate the anniversary of the Hotel on this day as well. So on this day of the Full Moon, Legian Village Hotel’s Management and Staff celebrated the Hotel’s Temple Festival and Hotel’s Anniversary at once (two events in one celebration). As seen in the photos all Staff wear Balinese costume and there are some in-house guests (Westerners) who joined these joyous events. They all looked so happy. After dedicating the offerings to the God, they ate together and feel that God blesses all the meals. (BTN/*)

Kites Competition

TABANAN—The panoramic landscape of the Tanah Lot tourist object was even more eye-catching recently when the sky over this exotic tourist object was embellished by a colorful mixture of kites for two days (12-14 September). There were at least 397 kites representing traditional styles (janggan, pecukan and bebean) and creation style kites which flew over the spreading verdant rice field. The event allowed local kite-flyers, especially the flyers of creation style kites, to show off their creative skills as well as their expertise in control of their kites. There were also kite-flyers from the Netherlands and Malaysia who cheerfully participated. They enthusiastically joined the Tanah Lot Kites Festival 2008 event which is organized annually. (BTN/015)
