General Manager of Bale Udang Mang Engking, Rahadian H, said that Bale Udang Mang Engking has 20 types of special menu made from shrimp ingredients. However, the most special menu is Hurang Agung made of the various superior types of shrimp. Interestingly, one portion of this Hurang Agung can be consumed by four people.
“Vision of Bale Udang Mang Engking is to become the big three in Bali, especially in the category of restaurant serving food with shrimp ingredient. During this time, people have been familiar with Bebek Bengil, roasted suckling pig and now shrimp only exists in the Bale Udang Mang Engking,” he said on the sidelines of the Grand Launching of the Bale Udang Engking Mang attended by director and management of Mang Engking in Indonesia, travel agents, government and community leaders, Thursday (Dec 8).
Nevertheless, the Bale Udang also provides another menu made of gourami. Even, this menu has some varieties, including mortar gourami, sweet and sour gourami. There is also grilled beef seasoned with black pepper. Obviously, the seasonings have been adjusted because many foreigners also like Indonesian traditional cuisine. “In essence, the Bale Udang Mang Engking indeed tends to serve traditional dishes that can be enjoyed by many tongues,” he said.
Meanwhile, General Manager of Avila Hospitality Management, I Gusti A. Ngurah Dharma Suyasa said that grand launching of Gubug Makan Mang Engking into Bale Udang was linked to the third anniversary. “It started from a vision to give convivial Balinese dining atmosphere with a vision of Tree Top Mind Awareness for Indonesian restaurant in Bali,” he said.
