HAVE you ever had a promenade to Bukit Sari Sangeh tourist attraction? The tourist attraction posing a nature reserve in the northern region of Badung is not only beautiful, but also has taksu (divine vibration). Foreign tourists particularly like the cool atmosphere of the object exuding a spiritual aura spread by large trees of hundreds of years old. Five temples existing in the woods such as the Bukit Sari, Melanting, Tirta, Anyar and Batan Pole seem to maintain the sanctity of the forest. Stealing, saying rudely or breaking the rules there will get in return. The effect will be different, like trance, confusion, sudden dark and sometimes people does not know the way home.
One of the officers of the tourist attraction, Made Sumohon, said it was the only tropical forests overgrown by nutmeg tree vegetation so that it made the area very cool and haunted. Monkeys as forest dwellers always maintained the sanctity of the area. “If there are people committing evil deeds, the deities venerated in the Melanting Temple will be ignorant,” he said. Sometimes it spread fragrances and foul odors that could make us shocked. Walking around the temple would be like to be followed. Without a cause the clean head would suddenly feel itchy like to be inhibited by many fleas. Surprisingly, it would leave no trace after going out of the forest. Beautiful women often appeared in broad daylight.
People looking for nutmeg sometimes lost control and then said rudely. They were then rewarded to lose control where they could not find their way home. Another incident drawing the attention was when a tourist fell into trance which behaved like an ape. Sumohon explained it happened because people wanted to test the power of nature over there. When being not strong enough to get in touch with the forces of nature, people would fall into trance and eventually passed out. “After consulted to local temple priest and sprinkled with holy water, the tourist finally regained his conscious and came back to normal,” he said.
Another incident was a domestic visitor from Java that was supposed to get possessed at its home village. Having consulted to a medium, in fact the visitor had made mistake at the tourist attraction of Sangeh. Ultimately, the visitor came back to Sangeh for delivering apologizing oblation.
Nevertheless, many of those visitors getting a good reward. For example, they became a successful businessman that could manage their organization well, recovered from being sickly and others. “Essentially, never have an evil intention when having a promenade in the forest area, precisely in the area of Melanting Temple. Simply comply with the rules and restrictions,” he said. (BTN/015)
