It was the ritual of invoking a blessing for life known as the Usabha Sri commenced by taking out sanctified effigies from six temples at local village. Each effigy was enthroned in a litter vehicle carried by 28 devotees. Chief of customary village, I Wayan Subhadra, accompanied by Secretary I Made Mas Mastiawan, said the Usabha Sri had an essence to invoke grace through natural fertility in the hope that everything cultivated would give good and marketable crops, consisting of various fruits, tubers and beans.
At the same time was also held the Usabha Muu-uu having the significance of preventing any kinds of disease and plague from entering the village. The ritual used animal sacrifice like cow, dog (of cream colored and black muzzled) and red chicken. The ritual procession was also resumed with Meprani or presenting blayag rice bag and various fruits. It was accompanied with Rejang Dewa dance as well as gong and gambang gamelan music. Then, at the pengebek ritual, it was featured with kris dance performed by three specified residents.
Meanwhile, the sacred dance was the Abwang Lanang presented by 80 villagers that were performing the metuun bunga for 9 rounds. All devotees threw ritual ingredients such as blayag rice bags and fruits to the ritual venue with position of four directions. (BTN/015)
