After Singapore Airlines returned to serving international flights on the Singapore-Bali route on Wednesday (Feb 16), Amarterra Villas Bali Nusa Dua finally received international quarantine guests for the first time. The villa accommodation located in the area of Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Nusa Dua, South Kuta subdistrict, Badung, received guests from Russia and the UK. “We are very enthusiastic because today we receive 6 international quarantine guests from Russia and the UK,” said Director of Sales & Marketing, Michael Bowden Affandy, recently.
Michael Bowden Affandy admitted that he is very enthusiastic about this international quarantine tourist visit because it is the first arrival. Even though they are regular and not bubbles, tourists will definitely feel happy because each villa has a living room and private pool, so they can enjoy the outside air and the pool and the real Bali atmosphere. “That’s because they are not only always in the room, but can be outside the room doing activities with their family,” he explained.
The family guests consisted of father, mother and son as well as a female guest from Russia and two women from the UK quarantined for 5 days and 4 nights to check health as recommended by the government. When arriving at the airport, guests did PCR, then went to the villa if they were negative and continued to stay at the villa during quarantine. The day after checking out they did another PCR test, so there were 2 PCRs recommended by the government.
In their service, staff are not allowed to make contact with guests because they are quarantine guests. Guests will make requests to the hotel what time they will do food and beverage, be it breakfast, lunch and dinner. They will choose the menu they want, then it is prepared outside the villa and then the guests pick up starting with a phone call when the menu is ready. “We emphasize that there should be no contact at all between guests and staff,” he said.
Many advantages will be obtained when guests choose Amarterra Villas Bali Nusa Dua as a venue of their quarantine. Amarterra is not a hotel building but a villa, so they feel more comfortable while staying here. “In February, almost every day there are guests staying, an average of 3-5 villas and so are in March and April. However, we will only prepare it until May because we do not know how long the quarantine guest policy will be in place,” he added.
Michael Bowden Affandy further added that by making Amarterra Villas Bali Nusa Dua a quarantine venue, it will be able to increase the occupancy. Previously, from the beginning of the pandemic, Amarterra Villas Bali Nusa Dua had only relied on domestic tourists, so that with the arrival of foreign tourists, his party felt full of enthusiasm. “We and the staff are very excited about the quarantine tourists. This can increase occupancy which can create new enthusiasm. We miss meeting these people,” he said.
With the quarantine guests, other guests do not feel worried. This is because the villa management separates quarantine guests from non-quarantine guests. Quarantine guests are in the villas from the middle to the back while villas from the middle to the front of the groove are intended for guests who are not quarantined. The check-in and check-out location are also different, so guests really feel comfortable. “From a total of 39 existing villas, we have prepared 18 villas for quarantine with the type of one-bed room and two-bed room and equipped with a pool,” he concluded.
