Art Performance at Courtyard Nusa Dua

The celebration of the New Year has become a habit for the people of Indonesia. Moreover, Bali as a tourist destination with its timeless traditions and culture is frequently chosen by travelers to unwind at the end of the year. However, this year is a little different. The tourism industry players celebrated the New Year’s Eve intimately without fireworks and certainly implemented strong health protocols in 2022. “Courtyard by Marriott Bali Nusa Dua Resort packs a New Year’s event through the Brunch & Brushes event, combining the meaning behind Lunch and Art,” said Food & Beverage Manager, Gede Sentana, on Friday (Jan 7).

The event collaborated with a group of young people under the name Goba Bali who are involved in the arts. Courtyard Nusa Dua provided spaces and facilities for young Balinese to be creative and express their inspirations through Live Mural Painting sessions. Goba Bali consists of four young people who graduated from the Indonesia Institute of the Art (ISI), Bali, who are focused on art, especially in the field of drawing. “It’s like beautifying the layout, such as a restaurant or a wall. Goba Bali also displays unusual artworks on canvas measuring 2×2 meters,” he said.

During the lunch event, guests were presented with a painting performance directly by the large pool. The concept poured onto the canvas is a blend of dynamics between Balinese culture and the holiday atmosphere at the end of the year. “The aim is to provide facilities for young Balinese community in creating and delivering Balinese arts in a unified combination easily accepted by the wider community. So, the idea is created to collaborate with Goba Bali,” added this calm man.

Goba itself means ‘appearance’ like the appearance of Bali which is very well known to foreign countries. “It serves as a form that contains ethnic and cultural elements as our warm greetings as Balinese people in welcoming travelers back to Bali,” said Gede Sentana.

During the arrival of tourists to this five-star resort located in the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Nusa Dua area, they were already very fluent in implementing health protocols. Starting from the moment of arrival, they washed hands, wore masks, maintained distance and registered attendance through the PeduliLindungi application. “Similarly, please always keep your distance and keep wearing a mask while you are and have activities at the hotel,” he concluded.
