Bali returns to be trusted as the host of the prestigious Wextra (Women Endurance Extra) 2022 event scheduled to be held on July 16. This was conveyed by Lara Prasetya as the Founder of Wextra who is also the Chairperson of the Women Cycling Community (WCC) in her audience with the Deputy Governor of Bali, Prof. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, in his office in Denpasar, on Thursday (Jun 23)
Furthermore, Lara Prasetya added that Wextra, one of the events initiated by WCC Bali by cooperating with WCC communities throughout Indonesia as partner communities, is held to inspire women’s courage to take part in semi-pro-scale activities in the endurance category. “This year’s activity is the second we have carried out and collaborated with Bank Mandiri as one of the strong supporters of the activity. We hope that the routine activities carried out every year can serve as an alternative to sport tourism for domestic and international tourists,” she added.
Lara further added that this year’s Wextra will consist of 2 categories, namely the Half Loop or 200 km category followed by 100 male and female cyclists and the 369 km category which will be participated by 15 female cyclists chosen by representatives from all over Indonesia.
In response to this, the Deputy Governor of Bali, Prof. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, welcomed the selection of Bali as the host of the prestigious event. This activity will add to the list of Bali’s achievements as a host of national and international scale events. By organizing Wextra, the Deputy Governor of Bali also hoped it can be promotion event for Bali tourism so that in the future more sporting events will be held in Bali. “We really appreciate and fully support the organization of this activity. Apart from exercising, the participants can also enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Bali, and in the future we will continuously improve the supporting infrastructure so that more sports and other events will be held in Bali,” he said.
