Dipta Stadium Ready to Welcome the U-20 World Cup

Aside from football lovers, this also makes Balinese people proud. Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, officially laid the groundwork for the renovation of the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium on Friday afternoon (Nov. 6).

The renovation of the Bali United football club home base stadium began to take effect after the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Zainudin Amali, and Chairman of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), Mochamad Iriawan, attended the Contract Signing and Kick Off Renovation of the stadium and football field through virtual media witnessed by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, and Regent of Gianyar, I Made Mahayastra.

In the event, Acting Director General of Human Settlements, Danis Hidayat, reported that there are three packages that will be carried out in the renovation work. The first package is the renovation work of the main venue and training field in Bali which included the Captain I Wayan Dipta main stadium as well as four training fields namely the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium and Kompyang Sujana Stadium in Denpasar as well as Gelora Samudra Stadium and Gelora Trisakti Stadium in Badung. “This work package is carried out by PT PP Persero with a contract value of more than IDR 152.9 billion,” said Danis Hidayat.

Meanwhile, Minister of PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljono, in his speech called the Governor of Bali as Bli Koster (Brother Koster) and hoped that the work could be carried out with the right quality, on time, on cost, on administration and useful, so that the results are good. “The spirit of the Indonesian national team which is full of hard work and training to compete in the U-20 World Cup will be balanced with good infrastructure,” said Minister Basuki.

For this reason, Minister Basuki requested that the renovation of the stadium must be seriously carried out, especially in the lighting and grass. Since we only have 6 months left, please use this opportunity to improve the venue according to FIFA standards. “This stadium will have an international standard venue. So, the consultant has to supervise it well and this is only 6 months. Please don’t accomplish it late, it must be well prepared,” he said while hoping the Governor, Mayor and Regent that when the stadium renovation is completed he will hand it over so that it can be managed and utilized properly.

In closing the Contract Signing and Kick-Off Renovation for the Stadium and Football Field, the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, and the Regent of Gianyar, I Made Mahayastra, took the time to kick a red and black ball into the goalkeeper position guarded by the Head of the Bali Regional Settlement Infrastructure, I Nyoman Sutresna.
