To celebrate the annual global event Earth Hour on March 26, 2022, Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach turned sustainability into action by turning off non-essential lights for one hour starting at 20:30 Local Time on Saturday (Mar 26).
When the lights went out for an hour, in-house guests gathered to enjoy 200 candles shaped into the number 60+ and stargazed on the beach which is only a few minutes’ walk from their room. “This is one of our actions to show how much we care about the future of our beloved Planet Earth. In addition to protecting nature, we can enjoy a healthy, happy and sustainable life now and in the future. This event also encourages us to be able to use energy wisely,” said Masaya Hasebe, General Manager of Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach.
He further added, “Therefore, our CHSE certified beachfront resort is increasing the use of LED lighting in guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens and key common areas as well as automatic timers to minimize non-essential lighting to save more energy for the environment.”
As part of the resort’s commitment to supporting a sustainable environment, Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach also plans to expand its sustainability program to achieve more actions to save the planet. (BTN/014)
