Eid Holiday, Tanah Lot Visited by 9,367 Tourists Each Day

Tanah Lot tourist attraction is unique, so that during the Eid holiday 2022, the number of tourist visit increased. The surge in tourist visits has begun to be seen during the joint leave holiday until May 3, 2022. The number of tourist visits has even exceeded 9,367 people per day. “The number of tourist visits to Tanah Lot has increased since last April 29,” said Assistant Manager of Tanah Lot, Putu Toni Wirawan, on Wednesday (May 4).

Based on the data, on April 29 the tourist visits amounted to 1,985 tourists, then on April 30 increased to 2,812 tourists, on May 1 soared to 5,031 tourists, on May 2 reached 7,732 tourists and then on May 3 soared again to 9,367 tourists. “Of the total tourist visits to Tanah Lot, they are dominated by domestic tourists, who were dominant from the Island of Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan,” he explained.

Meanwhile, foreign tourists were dominated by Australians. The increase in foreign tourist arrivals began to be seen since the second week of April. Initially, they amounted to only 30 people per day, then they increased to 500 people per day. “This increase in the number of foreign tourist visits has occurred since the second week of April, precisely when the VoA policy was implemented,” he said.

Since the implementation of Visa on Arrival (VoA) or Visit Visa for foreign tourists who come to Bali, the number of foreign tourist visits to Tanah Lot has increased. So the implementation of VoA is very influential on the level of foreign tourist visits to Tanah Lot. The crowds of tourist visits were predicted to continue at the end of May to June next month. “We remain optimistic that visits will still be crowded ahead of the school holidays at the end of May to June,” he explained.

Although tourist visits have started to increase, the operator still emphasized the discipline of Health Protocol for visitors as well as staff and employees.
