Gede Paskara Karilo is entrusted again to lead the Ubud Hotels Association (UHA) for the period 2020-2021. Inauguration of the management for the period 2020-2021 was carried out by praying together coinciding with the fullmoon holiday of the eighth month in Balinese calendar or Thursday (Jan. 28) at Gunung Lebah Temple, Ubud, Gianyar. The procession was attended by one of the UHA Founders, namely I Wayan Pande Sutawan and all the board members.
Through the inauguration event, the tourism organization is expected to get new ideas in efforts to develop and strengthen the tourism sector, especially in Ubud. In this case, UHA always strives to raise the enthusiasm of every member, even though it is limited due to the pandemic, communication and several programs in the previous year are still running optimally. “Let us believe that Human Resources (HR) is the most important and how this association can help develop human resources in each of our member’s property,” said Pande Sutawan.
The management will focus on strengthening human resources and it serves as a regulatory bridge with local governments under the auspices of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI). “We have designed various work and training programs in 2021 covering Marketing and Revenue, Taxation, Human Resource Training, Licensing to Budgeting and will be continuing the second phase of the Cheap Groceries Bazaar program. All of them serve as an effort to improve our human resources,” said Pande Sutawan.
Gede Paskara Karilo stated that with the spirit of togetherness among UHA members, he hoped that Ubud, Gianyar and Bali tourism in general can bounce back from this pandemic situation. “Through this inauguration, hopefully the UHA members and committee will always be united, healthy and enthusiastic. With the presence of UHA as a tourism association, we do hope to be able to contribute to members and strengthen synergies to build sustainable tourism and support each other in today’s difficult situation,” he explained.
This owner representative of Wapa di Ume Ubud explained that UHA was established in 2004 as a communication forum and synergy for hotels in the tourist area of Ubud. “For 16 years, UHA as an organization has been able to echo its existence in an effort to strengthen and exchange information for the advancement of tourism in Ubud in particular and Gianyar in general,” he explained.
The UHA management for the period 2020–2021 consists of Chairman: I Gede Paskara Karilo (Owner Representative of Wapa di Ume Ubud), Vice Chairman: Gede Ngurah Dewantara Narottama (GM of Santi Mandala Villa & Spa), Secretary: Komang Ayu Arumi (GM of Sri Ratih Cottages ) and Gede Edi Artana (GM of Anumana Resort & Spa), Treasury: Putu Surya Arysoma (Owner Representative of Puri Gangga Resort & Spa) and Ni Made Dian Budiani (Room Division Manager of Tejaprana Resort & Spa) and Deasy Swandarini (GM of Tanah Gajah, A Resort by Hadiprana).
