To celebrate the annual global event Earth Day falling on April 22, 2022, Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach took an action by planting seal almond trees in the garden next to the beach in front of the resort. The activity was attended by the Green Team of hotel employees.

Masaya Hasebe, General Manager of Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach, stated that sea almond trees grow fast in coastal bushes, beaches and gardens. The plant adapts to a wide range of soil types with a wide pH range from 4 to 8. “There are several reasons why we decided to add the sea almond trees to our garden next to the coast, such as its capacity to protect coastal areas and the extensive root system that holds poor soil together. As we all know, earth is the only place to live in, therefore, the earth must be saved from all threats,” said Masaya, on Monday (Apr 25).

He added that in addition to planting trees, the resort also cleaned up the 1,700-meter beach in front of the resort by picking up trash, especially plastic waste and leveling the sand in the beach volleyball court area. “We are reviving our Nikko Plantation which cultivates some vegetables and herbs grown in the ground. Apart from being in line with our sustainability program, this is one of our efforts for our valued guests by serving organic and fresh food from the garden to the table who want to control their nutritional intake,” he concluded.
