New Year’s Eve at Fontana Hotel Bali Lasts Joyfully

There were no sounds of trumpets, festive fireworks, art performances and no distribution of door prizes. Nevertheless, tourists who attended the event interpreted them positively. “We continuously provide the best for our guests, namely providing an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner for in-house guests so they can celebrate and gather with their families to welcome the New Year together,” said General Manager of Fontana Hotel Bali, I Wayan Karta, on Monday (Jan. 4).

Even though it was in a different atmosphere due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, the activities to welcome the New Year 2021 were filled with an atmosphere of great happiness from the guests who really wanted to experience the New Year’s Eve at the hotel. “This is reflected on the faces of our guests who were enjoying the dinner. They spent their dinner time together, while relaxing. Sometimes, it was interspersed with stories and fun photos with family and relatives in the Portabella Bistro restaurant area. In-house guests enjoyed dinner with an all-you-can-eat buffet,” said this man.

Karta, who is active in tourism activities, stated the dinner event held in the hotel area was still based on the health protocols. Every guest who entered the dinner area was required to check their body temperature, and then they were required to use a hand sanitizer. In addition, the placement of tables and chairs in the restaurant area also maintained a distance between one guest and another (social distancing), and they had to wear mask in the restaurant area. “We still comply with local government regulations, namely the limitation of time for community activities on New Year’s Eve which can only last up to 23:00 local time,” he added.

At the end of 2020, this five-star hotel, located at Jalan Dewi Sri No.68, Legian Village, Kuta, Badung, is indeed the choice of tourists to stay. Occupancy rate of Fontana Hotel Bali on New Year’s Eve reached 76 percent or 103 rooms were occupied from the existing 136 rooms. However, only 100 tourists joined the dinner. “Due to the regulation of the Bali Provincial Government to hold a curfew until 23:00 local time, dinner was closed at 22:00 and kept informing not to crowd in the restaurant area,” concluded Karta.
