After the stipulation of Sanur as a destination with green zone status, it has not had a positive impact on tourist visits to the first beach tourism area in Bali. Hotel room occupancy never increases, in fact it keeps decreasing day by day. Moreover, the existence of the government policy to restrict transportation before Eid seems to have contributed to the lack of visits. Including the cancellation of Singapore Airline flights to Bali has made hopes of tourism players in the Sanur area dashed.
Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing of Prama Sanur Beach Bali, Ketut Purnama, stated that Sanur has indeed been declared a green zone, but it has not affected tourist visits to the hotel. Currently, Prama Sanur Beach Bali has not had significant increase in tourist visits to the increase in hotel occupancy. “Carrying the green zone status will certainly be a plus for tourists because it can create a sense of security and comfort while staying at hotel. However, it has not materialized yet,” he said.
The hotel located on Jalan Cemara, Sanur Kauh, South Denpasar, has started an increase in visits starting in April. Even though there was an increase, it was not too significant compared to the previous months. However, for May and June there are already incoming reservations, especially from the domestic market. “The room occupancy during March to April was around 2.29 percent. For May and June, there are already reservations from overseas and domestic markets, but most cancellation happened to overseas market,” said Purnama.
Consistent application of health protocols to guests, staff and employees can provide a sense of security and comfort for guests staying at hotel. All of them also serve as a form of supporting effort to Sanur as a green zone tourism area. All staff and employees have also participated in the vaccination. “Prama Sanur Beach Bali located in front of the beach has a large and lush garden and has got Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certification and I Do Care certificate,” he added.
When staying here, tourists get quick access from the airport to the hotel, which is about 15-20 minutes’ drive and close to the Sanur shopping area. Besides, the hotel is located in front of the beach with two large swimming pools, a kid club and a fitness center. “According to the discourse, the open border will be held immediately in June – July 2021. By that way, Sanur tourism will begin to improve and Prama Sanur Beach Bali can serve its customers,” he concluded hopefully. (BTN/015)
