SenS Hotel & Spa + Conference Ubud Town Center is not only busy in business matters, but also has a commitment to protecting the environment. Moreover, support for reducing global warming is carried out by installing large solar panels. The use of solar panel is also an effort to avoid dependence on conventional electricity. “The first large-scale solar panels for the electricity system in Ubud have been installed at SenS Hotel & Spa + Conference Ubud Town Center since February 2015,” said General Manager, Sven Remo, on Friday (Aug 12).
Taking into account the Corporate Social Responsibility of energy consumption and conservation, additional investment in solar panels is made to meet the lighting needs for all corridor areas, landscape areas, and main entrances where valuable energy savings are being implemented every day. “The benefits of these panels and solar energy are extremely felt because they are able to save costs. This system has saved more than 3,500-watts of electrical energy which is equivalent to a reduction of more than CO2 emissions per year,” he explained.
The Solar Panel is owned and operated by PT. Sutera Abadi, and has contributed to savings of around USD 458.72/year. Fuel prices have affected the tourism sector to a large extent over the last few decades and alternative energy solutions, and the solar panels will be indispensable in the future. SenS Hotel Ubud has set a target to reduce energy consumption in 2016 from the realization in 2015. “We make SenS Hotel one of the most energy efficient hotels on the island, especially in the Ubud area,” hoped Sven Remo.
The hotel located at Jalan Sukma Kesuma No. 1, Banjar Tebesaya, Ubud Subdistrict, Gianyar District, then took steps for separate collection, disposal, and recycling of waste that have been applied consistently since all hotel rooms were fully operational in July 2015. “We do have a program for sorting waste, so that the environment becomes clean and comfortable,” he concluded.
