The Patra Bali Cares for Balinese Local Wisdom Culture

Almost every corner of the daily life of Balinese people gets a touch of beautiful Balinese culture. This makes Bali renowned all over the world with its abundant culture. In an effort to support local culture and referring to the directives issued by the Governor of Bali and the Bali Regional Government Circular, all communities, agencies, institutions and business lines in Bali are asked to always implement efforts to preserve local wisdom,

The Patra Bali carried out Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) activities by preserving traditional Balinese arts. This concern is carried out by providing assistance for two cultural communities, namely the Lila Kumaris Art Production Dance Studio and the Sekar Tanjung Dance & Gamelan Studio in the form of supporting equipment for dance and gamelan music.

The assistance was handed over by the General Manager of The Patra Bali, Saleh Wibowo, and received directly by I Wayan Suatra Negara from the Lila Kumaris Dance Studio, and I Putu Arya Suryawan from the Sekar Tanjung Dance & Gamelan Studio at The Gianyar Room, The Patra Bali Resort & Villas at the end of September 2022.

Saleh Wibowo stated that in addition to wearing Balinese customary clothes for all employees at hotel, especially every Thursday, full moon and new moon, this SER assistance is a form of dedication of The Patra Bali for the Dance & Gamelan Studio. “This is a form of The Patra Bali’s awareness in supporting and reviving local culture and wisdom, considering that the forerunner of Bali tourism was actually started by the interest of foreign guests in Balinese culture itself,” he said.

Wayan Suatra Negara expressed his gratitude to The Patra Bali who cares about the preservation of traditional Balinese arts. “Through this cultural community, we try to participate in developing and inheriting our ancestral culture so that it will not be eroded by the times,” he said.

Meanwhile, I Putu Arya Suryawan believed that Balinese culture will always have a special place in the hearts of the people as the original recipients of the inheritance as well as in the hearts of people from all over the world. “So one of these local wisdoms must be preserved at all times,” he said.

On the same day, The Patra Bali Resort & Villas carried out community service along Tuban Beach which was directly behind the hotel. The activity was carried out regularly as a form of The Patra Bali’s responsibility in protecting the surrounding environment, where the operational area is located. (BTN/015)
